Hunting is a past time in Maine shared by many families, both local and out of state. There are many places in Maine where the hunting is great and in fact it turns the wheels of the local economy in many Maine towns. If you are looking for property in Maine to use as a hunting camp you have many options. You can find great Maine cabins for sale as well as larger homes that could become second homes or vacation houses.

Western Maine Hunting Property

Land for sale in western Maine makes great hunting real estate. There is the opportunity to hunt for deer, bear, grouse, rabbits, coyote, bobcat and moose. The western lakes and mountains region of Maine is some of the most beautiful in the northeast. Many hunters come to these areas such as the Rangeley Lake region each fall to experience a moose hunt. Moose are quite abundant in this area and if you do not have the luck of getting a moose permit there are also plenty of trophy bucks and tons of small game.

The western Maine region also includes Carrabassett Valley, Eutis and Jackman which are all known for recreation including fishing and hunting.

Moosehead Lakes Region Hunting Property

In this region you can choose luxurious lake front property on Maine’s largest lake or you can find more remote wilderness property where you can leave your porch to go hunting. The Moosehead Lake region covers a lot of territory from Greenville at the southern part of the lake all the way north to the North Bay of Moosehead Lake. Just north of that is Seboomook Lake and east of Moosehead’s north bay is Lobster Lake. This entire region is great for small and big game hunting.

The land here is very wild compared to every other state and the wilderness has an eery calm to it that only the most forested state in the country can give you. If you are looking for some of the best hunting property in the east, Maine is a good bet.
